Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2025
1. Open source software
Boxli is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. The source code is available at github.com/joe-josue/boxli-me. Self-hosted instances operate independently under the MIT License terms with no restrictions.
2. The hosted service (boxli.me)
By using the hosted service at boxli.me, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly. You must not use Boxli to publish content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Your content
You own all content you create on Boxli. By publishing a profile, you grant Boxli a limited license to display and serve that content to visitors of your public profile URL. We will never sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising purposes.
4. No warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICE.
5. Privacy
Boxli uses privacy-first analytics — we count pageviews and tile clicks using our own infrastructure. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded on any Boxli page. Authentication is handled via GitHub/Google OAuth; we store only the necessary identifiers to create your account.
6. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will post a notice on the site.
