Frequently asked questions
What counts as a tile?
Every tile you add to any profile counts toward your limit. The counter is global across all your profiles. Delete a tile and the count decreases.
Can I self-host Boxli for free?
Yes — Boxli is MIT licensed. Self-hosted instances have no tile limits and no branding requirements. Pricing only applies to the hosted boxli.me service.
What payment methods do you accept?
Boxli Pro is billed via Polar.sh. We accept all major credit cards. Cancel any time — no lock-in.
Do community themes cost anything?
No. All community themes are free forever on both plans.
What happens if I hit the free limit?
You'll see an upgrade prompt in the builder when you try to add your 16th tile. Your existing tiles and profiles remain fully accessible.
